Fort Worth Botanic Garden Hosts Free Earth Day Event for All Ages

FORT WORTH, Texas, April 14, 2026 — Free admission, fresh air, and a full day of fun? Yes, please! Nature is calling — and on Friday, April 24, 2026, the Fort Worth Botanic Garden wants you to answer.

Join the Garden for Neighbors in Nature: An Earth Day Celebration, a free, all-ages event full of activities that will spark your love for the living world around you.

Presented by Atmos Energy, this is a full day packed with something for everyone: yoga to start your morning right, expert-led plant walks for curious minds, and captivating film screenings that will leave you seeing the natural world in a whole new way. Truly, an event that has something for everyone!

Best of all, general admission is completely free for the day. With hands-on activities, educational experiences, and moments that’ll deepen your connection to the natural world, this is the Earth Day celebration our community has been waiting for.

Highlights

  • Yoga for All Ages: An all-levels Vinyasa Yoga session at 8:00 AM grounds participants through nature-inspired breathwork and movement. Family Yoga with Yogi Squad — a playful, nature-themed session for children — follows at 9:30 AM and again at 2:30 PM. All sessions are held on the Fuller Garden Lawn.
  • Bella Storytime with the Fort Worth Public Library: Children and families are invited to join Bella the Begonia for a nature-themed story time at 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM on the Fuller Garden Lawn.
  • Native Plant Sale (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM): Shop native plants to create a wildlife-friendly, climate-resilient home garden.
  • Author Presentation “Your Child’s Motor Development Story” (10:00 AM): Author Jill Mays presents on the critical role of sensory exploration and outdoor play in children’s healthy development. Ticket required.
  • Film Screening: “The Extraordinary Caterpillar” (1:00 PM & 3:00 PM): An eye-opening documentary on the small but essential creatures sustaining our ecosystems. Free; ticket required.
  • Plant Walk (1:00 PM): A casual, educational stroll through the Garden trails led by research staff, with plant identification along the way.
  • Forest Therapy Walk (1:30 PM & 2:00 PM): Guided 30-minute walks through the Japanese Garden designed to promote mental and physical well-being through sensory nature connections. Limited to 10 participants per session.
